Known as Rajeev Fontwala, Rajeev Prakash is an art director who currently lives in Delhi and works at Delhi Press. He has had a great passion for art since he was a child. From an early age he discovered his preference for creating innovative calligraphy works when his teacher asked him to write in beautiful Hindi handwriting known as "Sulekh".
His childhood experience like this brought Rajeev closer to the field of art. There were no professional artists in his family, but he still had a legacy of the creative sensibilities of his family. He remembers how his "aunt" influenced his art. Even where he lived, there was a lot of art in his culture, and there was art in his genes.
Like any other family, he initially chose engineering, but soon realized a call to life in the arts. He joined Mayapress in Prayagraj after he was unable to enroll in art school. He was introduced to "Robin Chatterjee", who was impressed with his art, and he got a job. After he worked for a new job for a year, he enrolled at Banaras Hindu University.
After Undergraduate college education, he came to Bombay to attend the Industrial Design Center, where his "guru" R.K. Joshi Taught digital typography. When Rajeev first used a "Mac" computer, he was surprised in the early days of computing.
His first project was for Dainik Bhaskar. With his growing skills and pursuit of calligraphy, he has acquired many new clients and practiced writing in different languages. One of his challenging missions was "the iconic font of the Vedas". Rajiv began his research on the "Vedas" and made great efforts to realize his project.
Regarding the importance of learning failure, he states: "To understand success, it is essential to taste failure." Unicode technology is a time consuming process today and is the best invention for the growing globalization industry.
Why does English have more fonts than Hindi?
The reasons are as follows. "In India, few people understand modernization in the field of calligraphy. Technology is advancing, but a strong foundation for calligraphy is needed, he said.
