About the Artwork:
Portrait painting is a genre painting where the intent is to represent a specific human subject. A well executed portrait is expected to the show the inner essence of the subject. As Aristotle stated, " The aim of Art is to present not the outward appearance of things but their significance; for this not the external manner and detail, constitutes true reality. As this portrait painting titled as " Excruciating Pain" like if you describe something as unbearable, you mean that it is so unpleasant, painful, or upsetting that you feel unable to accept it or deal with it. That the only feeling which I tried to show in my artwork. If I describe in brief, according to aspects which we deal in our daily life where not only girls or women suffers the most, may be we avoid the suffering of the man. Why? Because they are inexpressive or uncommunicative which causes depression, anxiety and they have to deal with all this in certain phase in life. As you see in work, tear in eyes, the confined skin of forehead, red face. These are the things which telling the million of words without speaking single word. The artist generally attempts a representative portrayal, as Edward Burne-Jones stated, The only expression allowable in great portraiture is the expression of character and moral quality, not anything temporary, fleeting, or accidental.
From the Artist
My name is Deeppriya and raised in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Currently I am doing Bachelor's of Fine Arts from University of Allahabad. I completed my 10+2 from Kendriya Vidyalaya Lko Cantt.
My journey--
Everyone during adolescence has been asked the question of what are you going to do for your future? For me, by every step of life I'm not sure what I wanted to do for my future. Everytime I used to change my aim, according to what teacher's said or family members said.
I am the type of person who went with the motion of life. But beside all these things my interest towards art growing, may be because of I am good at this. I get good environment in my school. They conducts competition, softboard decorations and many activities and I used to participate and even wins many.
I still had no self esteem as an artist. When my family members and schoolmates call me the little artist, I shrugged at this idea. In my mind, being an artist means you actually have to be good at. I started searching about artists and there artworks. These things that had give me passion.
After school, I prefer to follow my passion. For the first time, I am sure about what I wanted to do for my future and got admission in the course Bachelor's of Fine Arts where I have learnt and still learning about the beauty of art and now I m seeing myself in path of being an artist.
