About the Artwork:
The artwork is about the Lord Vitthal (Vithoba), also known as Panduranga, is a Hindu deity predominantly worshipped in the Indian state of Maharashtra and Karnataka. He is generally considered as a manifestation of the god Vishnu, or his avatar Krishna. Vithoba is often depicted as a dark young boy, standing arms akimbo on a brick .In the background is Abhanga by Sant Tukaram ,it says "Sundera te dhyana ubhe vitevari, karakatavari thevoniya. It is written in the calligram style with white and black ink.InThe middle is the Lord Vitthala's standing posture with Black ink and Yellow 'Naam' on his forehead.Mauli means mother. And they call Vitthal as mother instead of father because he is very caring just as a mother.
